Nighttime entertainment venues need to continue to evolve in pursuit of better experiences, break the boundaries of nightlife, and provide memorable sensory audio-visual experiences for people moving through the night. Especially in the increasingly popular nightclub space, transformative, creative changes and design are essential! MGM's Hakkasan Night Club takes a bold design makeover from the original, incorporating technology into the design so that it becomes an integral part of the environment. This proves that old elements of the club can also be integrated into the new design, giving the club space a new look and feel. Hakkasan, within MGM Grand Hotels and Casinos, is a bold evolution of the global entertainment space, driven by cutting-edge technology and a bold artistic makeover to create a world-class, all-encompassed nightlife experience. The Hakkasan Grid, a multimillion dollar custom kinetic energy lighting installation above the club, is the largest permanent kinetic energy lighting installation in the United States. It consists of 57 4-foot long seamless sculptural triangles that combine to form a 30-foot long structure connected by 169 high-precision winches.
Each triangle is custom-designed and 3D printed using premium materials, with pixel mapping and color mixing capabilities. Controlled by a proprietary and custom software solution, Hakkasan Grid can transform shape and color in sync with live music, reshaping and recoloring itself to create an immersive atmosphere that enhances and enhances the nightclub's consumer experience. Created by the award-winning design firm Whitevoid, based in Berlin, Germany, the installation is filled with lightweight design art and dynamic audio-visual sculptural structures. Breaking down the barriers between entertainment, art and technology, while setting the standard for luxury nightclub design.
